#45 Kieran Strachan Player Issue 2019 Indigenous Guernsey
- SKU:AC19IGA45
Designed by Andrew and Jonathan McLeod, our 2019 Indigenous Guernsey pays homage to Torres Strait Islander culture and the Kaurna people whose lands we reside on. The main design is a Torres Strait Islander headdress, called a Dhoeri (Deri). The Dhoeri is worn on special occasions, in ceremony, dance and in the past during warfare by warriors – much like our modern-day AFL game, where our team gets to parade itself on the ground, our warriors dance with their opposition in what is effectively a sporting battle. The dot paintings surrounding the Dhoeri represent us, we come from many walks of life, different families, different communities, and different countries and often with different beliefs. Yet we are all connected as one, through a love for our own Indigenous game and unwavering support of our Adelaide Crows. Hugely popular in 2019, our Indigenous Guernsey sold out following our Round 10 Sir Doug Nicholls Round match. Wearing our Guernsey for the second time this season in honour of National NAIDOC Week, your only opportunity to purchase this sold out collector’s item is by purchasing through this auction.
